Charlie is the happiest boy in the world these days. He is growing more confident and social all the time. It is great to watch him learn! He is taking multiple steps now, so while he still can't just walk across the room, he can go back and forth between things and it is finally clicking that he can actually cover some ground while walking. And he LOVES it! He is so proud of himself when he walks to something.
He has added another word to his vocabulary: "Jack". The other day we found him just staring up at the pictures of Jackson on the wall. He had not really noticed them like that before. So of course we pointed and said "This is Jack" over and over. He smiled really big and said "Jack!". We didn't think much else about it until he kept going over there and every time he would say his name. Several days later James was in the kitchen with him asking him where things were, and said "Where's Jack?". He smiled, and did his turbo-crawl all the way across the kitchen and den until he was under the pictures, then reached up and said "Jack!". So he really knows! It is amazing that he is so young yet somehow has a connection with Jack. He doesn't even say "Mama" and "Dada" on a regular basis yet!
He is doing all kinds of things. He can climb up stairs now and he is trying to learn to snap his fingers. He loves dogs above all else and is getting good at spotting them everywhere. We have a book of animals and whenever we get to the dog page he says "Dog! Dog!" excitedly. We are working on some other animals but so far he's all about dogs!
He has had fun lately with friends and family. We went to Max's football game last weekend and he actually sat in the grass for the first time. He loves Kindermusik and music of all kinds, and he still dances all the time. He will dance the first time he meets someone--usually a female--, whenever he hears music, and whenever he is just really happy about something.
Knock on wood, but he is sleeping so well these days. I hate to post that because it always comes back to bite me. But he is napping at least twice a day, and then going to sleep on his own at night. It is something I never thought we would get to--we give him a small bottle, play with him a bit, kiss him goodnight, and place him in the crib. He plays alone for about 3-5 minutes and then just lies down and falls asleep, and sleeps till around 6 AM. Are you kidding me!? Our baby??? It is wonderful. I hope it lasts.
The note they sent home from school the other day said "Charlie is just a happy, happy boy". That about sums it up!

I've always thought Charlie looked like James, but the last picture in today's post, he is 100% Angie...he is definitely a cutie pie!
Just when you think he can't possibly get any cuter, he does!
