On another note, Charlie has truly embraced the fine art of defiance. He has a way of knowing exactly what he should not get into, and then becoming obsessed with getting into it to the point of driving me crazy. Say, for example, his diaper pail. The trash can. The dog water bowl. Things like that.
In addition, mealtime has become much more interesting. He has now learned how much fun it is to take food out of his mouth immediately after it goes in, squish it up, and drop it on the floor. "uh-oh" "uh-oh"
He had his one-year checkup last week and the doctor said he was perfectly healthy and even a bit ahead on some things. Except for teeth, because he still just has two. But we don't mind. He is already starting to like us to brush them. He is now just over 50th percentile for weight and height, and of course still in the 90th percentile for his head. We think it is all that brain power! :)
He also just learned to climb off of our fireplace step backwards, something he has been frustrated by for a while when he couldn't do it. He is so proud of himself! And he learned a new word, "Coke". Every southern boy needs to know how to say Coke. He loves to carry around 2-liters (don't ask) so I guess we finally said "Is that your Coke?" enough times for him to realize that's what it is.
More pictures soon.

James,
It was fun to stumble upon your family's blog today through Life Plus Kids. I didn't know your story and am inspired by your heart.
