Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! I hope you all had a great day.

Charlie had a fun weekend. As we have said before, his favorite thing in the world (besides eating) is to be out and about watching people. Yesterday we took him to a Historical Society event where he got to see musicians, horses, people in costume, and just a lot of activity. He loved it!

Then today, he got to go to the pool for the first time. Well--almost the first time. We did take him once during the South Carolina trip but he only dipped his feet in so we don't really count that. Today though, sporting his brand new (huge) swimming trunks, he got to float around in a cool little raft and splash away. He absolutely loved it. We have found a new activity! It was definitely a good way to spend Father's Day.

He has been very tired lately and we think it's due to his increased exercise. He works hard all day to roll over, push up, try to crawl, and then today he started rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. He is SO close to crawling. We think it will be just a few more weeks. All of that work must take a toll on his little body! He is burning lots of calories and basically just wearing himself out, so he is napping more, and then eating more while awake. I guess it will all balance out somehow!

This week he started meats, and so far he loves them (of course). We are also giving him a little diluted juice in between meals. I think next we will try the little snack puffs. He definitely wants to chew now. I would say that's part of teething, but still no signs of actual teeth...

He has also started to tug on his ear when he's tired. He has been rubbing eyes for a long time, but now he will rub eyes, and/or tug on his ear, and/or yawn...so it's pretty obvious when he's tired regardless of how hard he tries to convince us otherwise!
