Henry has been off of oxygen for about 3 hours, and so far so good. He had "wet lungs" (too much fluid in them) from coming a little early, but delivery was necessary for Angie's health. His placenta was attached to the thinnest, scarred part of her uterus and he had to come on out now. Henry was also fighting mad when he arrived -- he was grappling with the doctors and he even turned from his back to his side several times trying to keep them away. He finally got so upset that he wasn't interested in breathing for a while. He is doing a lot better today.
Henry has also been out of the warmer bed for about an hour and a half. If he holds his temperature for a while ( he was a little cold yesterday), they plan to take him off of IV and let him move to our room and see how he does with just getting breast milk for his nutrition. Things seem to be progressing fine so far.
Charlie will get to meet Henry for the first time early this afternoon. If we can, we'll try to post a few photos of that tonight sometime. For now, here are a few of Henry.
